2017 Christmas Events in Canmore

December…That magical time of year when we take a moment to recharge and spend time with friends and family. What better place to do that than in the majestic mountain scenery that Canmore provides. This beautiful location offers both indoor and outdoor activities that are sure to engage all ages! Here are some ‘don’t miss’ ideas to take in the season:

Have someone that’s hard to buy for? Or just looking for something truly unique? Over 80 artists and artisans showcase jewelry, paintings, body products, furniture, photography, clothing and so much more! Visit Canmore Christmas Artisans Market, Nov 25-26 from 10-4pm at Canmore Collegiate High School. Admission $3 in support of Canmore Preschool Society.

For the entire month, Canmore comes alive with Christmas in Canmore – Nov 28-Dec 31 – enjoy lights decorations, guided shopping tours, Christmas specials, husband and child sitting and more.

As winter sets in and the days become shorter, what better way to brighten your spirits than by visiting the Canmore Festival of Trees (902 7th ave). Local organizations decorate complete with twinkling lights, sparkly decorations and musical ornaments. Dec 1-31 – admission by donation ($2 suggestion).

Have a budding artisan? Or maybe you are looking for some fun indoor family activities? We have just the thing! Crafty Kids Christmas Fun (artsPlace 950 8th ave) Dec 2 10-3pm $5/child $10/family tickets at the door.

Looking for some time out with friends? Want a unique way to cap off a day on the slopes? Come celebrate with Spirits of Christmas – Wine, Beer and Whiskey Tasting. Enjoy wine, beer and whiskey tasting along with delicious appetisers. Take part in the live and silent auction and our famous “Pick a Present”! Dec 9, 7pm Canmore Golf and Curling Club – tickets $60

And of course, you cannot miss the event of the season! Breakfast with Santa! Located at the Canmore Golf and Curling Club (2000 8th ave). Santa will be there for a fabulous breakfast and professional pictures. There will be live music by Stratus. Dec 9, 10 and 17th. There is 2 seating options available (9am and 11am). Adults $18, kids $15 under 1 is free. This sells out every year so get your tickets early! Each child admission includes an entry to win a playhouse!

There is plenty to see and do throughout the holiday season in Canmore but if you are looking to see a bit more of our beautiful countryside, Bragg Creek’s Spirit of Christmas is one worth visiting! Taking place Dec 2,3,9,10 you can enjoy a tour on a horse drawn wagon, see Santa, experience magic reindeer food, enjoy cookies, crafts and more!

Looking for a wonderful evening out? Nothing feels more like the holidays than being surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and taking in a Christmas classic!  A Christmas Carol is playing Dec 2-31 at the beautiful Fairmont Banff Springs.

Music is one of those things that can both soothe and invigorate the soul! Take in this jazz performance on Dec 3rd  >Jerry Granelli Trio – A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Banff Centre for Arts.
